Hello inletwolf,

A couple of items to start with:

A) Laptops can be more difficult to update video drivers when they are not supplied by the manufacture of the laptop. Nvidia and AMD drivers are geared more for desktop GPUs and usually do not contain any special settings that the laptop manufactures may add to the video driver.
B) You do not indicate which game you are having the issue with. It might be that the game you are playing requires newer hardware to be able to run correctly. If other older games run correctly then it suggests that it may not be a driver issue.
C) If NVIDIA GeForce Experience does not find any newer driver, then you may have the latest version of Nvidia driver installed for your hardware at this time. Download: http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience

After reading the above items and you want to try to update the video driver, follow the procedure below.

The safest procedure would be as follows.

1) Make a restore point
2) Run NVIDIA GeForce Experience program to scan and then download the appropriate drive for you. Download NVIDIA GeForce Experience program from here: http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience or http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details ... ience.html
3) Use DDU in normal mode. Safe mode is recommended but not always necessary.
4) After DDU runs, restart the computer.
5) Install new drivers and restart.
6) Configure the drivers as you like and test new video driver by playing some games.
7) Report back on results of driver change, positive or negative results.

I believe once you download a newer version or the updated driver, that would be considered as a fresh copy of drivers.
Once you use DDU, it will uninstall the existing one.
Once you get a prompt for uninstallation complete, then run the new or the updated drivers.

Thank you,

Sorry but it not works.
