MSI Afterburner - Power Limit Disabled after using version 18.0.3.5

Post by theufan06 »

Hello there!

There was a new driver from NVidia which is 461.09.
I had a problem that when I used DDU version 18.0.3.5.

What I did, which I always do, is to go safe mode, open up DDU, clean & restart. I installed Nvidia Driver 461.09 then after restarting, power limit slider was already disabled. then I ran DDU again on safe mode and installed the previous driver(460.97),which was working fine with afterburner, and still received the same issue.

Because I can't live without my overclock, I reformatted my PC and it worked all from fresh installation of the new driver and Afterburner was working great too so I am guessing that DDU was the culprit.

Please advise. Thanks!

Thanks for the report.
This is a strange and first time hearing it.
Since you have formated I guess you dont have a log of DDU anymore.
Have you tried to reinstall MSi afterburner before formatting?

Will try to give a shot at this later. But usually on my system, I do not have that issue with MSI AB power limit slider and DDU. but who knows something recently may have changed.

Yes I was also shocked, i thought maybe my gpu bios was bricked or pci-e needs cleaning, but I did clean the gpu also before formatting. formatting is really always my last option.

Thanks for your response :D
