Nvidia Driver automatically installs Old Driver?

Post by SheltonCoolio »

Whenever I use DDU to uninstall my Nvidia driver in safe mode, the installation of a new Nvidia driver after booting up normally has an issue. The new Nvidia driver installer will hang on checking to see if my system is compatible. Then after it stops hanging, the installer will jump to the finish page. I'll check my add/remove programs and notice that I now have an old Nvidia driver along with some of its components like physX.

I used to be able to use DDU without having this issue. Also, I'm able to use the Nvidia driver installer's clean install no problem.

Any idea how I can fix this issue?

Hi,
From what you are saying, I think that you are getting the old driver from windows update.
I suggest that you keep your internet disconnected when you are using DDU and also when you are installing your new driver.
If you still have issues this way, you can send us your DDU logs (located within the DDU folder) to [email protected]
