Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V17.0.6.6 Released.

ChangeLog:

-Fixed a DDU issue for users that had disabled the Task Scheduler service.
-Added a workaround in FileIO where findHandle would get an Invalid_handle on a JunctionPoint (RaparsePoint), preventing the removal of some folders.
-Additional NVIDIA CleanUP
-Translations updates: Spanish (Spain),French,Japanese, Czech

Recommended usage:
-The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best.
-Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe).
-It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues.

Dont know if im posting this in correct place .... maybe some other users have come across this

Have come across this problem with Intel gen 6 and 7 graphics drivers

Uninstall the Intel driver via DDU - does exactly what it says on the tin .... Removes the existing intel driver completely

Install the latest advertised intel driver from intel site.... great

But then 24 hours ish later - Find that Win 10 has downgraded the intel driver to a earlier microsoft version from win update

Do not have this problem with Nvidia whatsoever - Always latest driver I install sticks - Not seen Win update telling me that there is a nvidia driver update ever

So is this a intel driver problem or Win 10 or for some odd reason DDU not blocking updates like it superbly does when installing Nvidia driver

Hope someone can shed some light on this one

I agree, amazing piece of software. It's currently the standard for GPU Driver removal. Even AMD is recommending it as part of driver removal in their support forums.

Option 3 from the below thread resolved the issue for me. If you're running Windows 10 Home and don't have the Group Policy Editor try Option 4.

So what's the real difference between "clean and restart (recommended)" and "clean and shutdown". Why would you need "no rescan" with the clean and shutdown method when you are installing a new graphics card?

I just bought a new GPU and what I did was replace the old GPU, turn on the PC until Win10 detects and installs the new driver, and ran DDU in safe mode with clean and restart. Was I supposed to use clean and shutdown instead because it's a "new" GPU?

I'm totally confused between these two options. Please clarify. Thanks.

You seem to have understand it well.
The clean and shut down is for user who want to change the graphic card and run DDU with the old card installed.
When done they change the card (physically) and install their new drivers without needing to run DDU on the new card

Yes, if you DDU after you installed a new card, it will remove it. As long as you clean the good manufacturer. If you had a nVidia card, you need to clean using he nVidia option even if your new card is an AMD
