Is it necessary to use DDU to reinstall gpu drivers even if you are switching just within brand?

Title. I used to run a gtx 1060 3gbuno online, which I swapped to a rtx 2080. I only dowbloaded the 2080 specific drivers, didn't delete the previous one. I'm picking up a 3090 used on friday, and I was wondering if maybe I'm missing out on performance or better 1% lows or anything like that.

So should I reinstall drivers completely, or will I be fine with just a quick update?
