Issue with DDU 18.0.8.1

Post by ireneallen »

Hello,
I am having a problem with DDU 18.0.8.1. I can't play anything at all and i get black screens and everything crashes. Ive noticed that some people are using 18.0.0.9 and other versions. How do they revert back drivers? I'm new to this stuff. I would gladly go back to a stable driver version and be actual able to play games.

Hi,
Other user should not use old version of DDU.
Not sure what are theses crashes as this is unusual and I don't get reports like that often.
Before using DDU, was your system running with 0 issues ? Why did you use DDU in the first place ?
Also, you can email me the DDU Logs folder (zip it) at [email protected] so I can have a look a them just in case.

Also note that your crash could be related to a driver crash and has nothing to do with DDU. DDU only remove and clean the driver stuff, its up to you to install a new driver.

You can follow these steps to roll back to the old driver version with DDU:
- Download the old driver: Go to the GPU manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD...) and download the previous stable driver version.
- Download DDU: Download and install Display Driver Uninstaller from the official website.
- Boot into Safe Mode: This ensures a clean uninstallation.
- Run DDU: Use DDU to completely remove the current driver.
- Install the old driver: After uninstalling, reinstall the downloaded stable driver version.
This will help you roll back to a more stable driver version for gaming.
