Yes the Drive activity light is lit up constantly, also reinstalled windows again and tried to uninstall 372.70 with DDU.15.7.2.1 (

The first time it went through without a hitch, the second time it froze again.
In both cases Bitdefender was not installed or any Windows Updates.
I also encountered a new problem which might be related, after reinstalling Windows i tried installing a Driver for my Phone and my PC froze.
Tried it 2 times and both times it froze, so maybe its a Hardware problem.

Yeah seems like it.
But if we are lucky, it could be the power management of the AHCI-->SSD
try this:
-Click Start button, choose Settings -> System -> Power & sleep -> Additional power settings.
-For your selected "Preferred plans" click 'Change plan settings' then 'Change advanced power settings'.
-Expand 'PCI Express -> Link State Power Management', turn off the option.
-Reboot

I have already disabled this via Intel Rapid Storage
Update
Found a workaround, when disabling the Asmedia Storage Controller in BIOS it seems to work. Tried it several times without a problem.
Maybe the ODD connected is at fault.

Nice find, check if there is a Firmware update for the ODD.

Checked the Manufacturer Website, but could't find anything related to my ODD. This thing is probably too old.
Since I don't really need an ODD anyway, I will keep the Controller disabled for now.

Hey, I just made an account to thank you guys.
I've had problems with AMD driver freezing on installation. DDU froze too right as it said 'clean uninstall' or something along those lines.
I disabled my Asmedia Storage Controller in BIOS, and was able to clean and install new driver no problem. Would never have thought to try that if it weren't for you guys! I will no go forth and evangelize this as a potential fix for all who suffer from similar issues.
