Display Driver Uninstaller Desktop Shortcut

When I install Display Driver Uninstaller via the installer it creates a Display Driver Uninstaller shortcut on the desktop but this shortcut fails to work in safe mode because this shortcut is actually saved to OneDrive instead of the local PC by default. This happens if a desktop shortcut is created for the current user instead of for all users in the public desktop folder. If I try to use the desktop shortcut in safe mode I get an unexpected error. The shortcut from the start menu works.

Thanks for the information, I'll look at what I can do for that

When I do a clean install of Windows 11 with a Microsoft Account it automatically backs up important folders Desktop, Documents, and Pictures by default without permission. Microsoft still considers Desktop as important folder even though it normally only contains shortcuts. If I uninstall an app that uses this folder from one PC it will delete the same shortcut from all PC's that use the same Microsoft account.

I have maybe fixed it, could you try this installer instead and see if it work now ?

It still doesn't work in safe mode without networking because it's on OneDrive\Desktop. I use safe mode without networking to prevent windows update from reinstalling drivers while DDU is in progress.

I'm surprised, someone else and myself tested and the icon is not on onedrive anymore.

My OneDrive backups include the Desktop, Documents, and Pictures and they are all turned on by default during Windows 11 clean install. My desktop for current user is actually located on C:\Users\keith\OneDrive\Desktop and all shortcuts in this folder fail in safe mode. When I use the DDU installer v18.0.8.5 and install the software it places shortcuts for the current user only on the start menu and desktop. All desktop icons for current user are located on C:\Users\keith\OneDrive\Desktop and for all users are on C:\Users\Public\Desktop. Only the public desktop icons work in safe mode but not the ones for the current user on OneDrive. I'm using Microsoft Account and not local account for Windows login.

If you can check 18.0.8.6, the shortcut should be where you wanted.
