I need to use an older version of nvidia drivers to do some work with graphics software that requires it. I CANNOT stop Windows 10 from auto updating to the latest driver.
I have tried DDU which only stops it for one boot after Win10 installs the older driver.
I have tried Shutup10 which has an option to disable driver updates. Doesn't work.
I have tried the MS tool that stops the update, but again it works for one reboot and then the new driver is installed.
This is insane that MS is causing me so much grief with this. Does anyone know how to stop this auto updating for good?
At best I can stop it for one reboot, but it often still updates after a few hours even without rebooting.
Stop Windows 10 auto driver updates?

Re: Stop Windows 10 auto driver updates?
The usual tools like DDU and Shutup10 seem to offer only temporary fixes, which isn’t ideal. One thing you could try is disabling the Windows Update service completely, though it’s not a perfect solution because it can cause other issues. Another option is using the Group Policy Editor or registry tweaks to block specific updates, but you’d need to be careful with that as it can affect other system functionality.

Re: Stop Windows 10 auto driver updates?
I had the same issue with Windows 10 forcing driver updates. What finally worked for me was disabling driver updates via Group Policy Editor.
Open gpedit.msc, go to:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update
Enable Do not include drivers with Windows Updates.
After that, use DDU in Safe Mode to clean install your preferred driver. Windows should leave it alone after.
Hope this helps!
