Why do I need DDU to uninstall drivers?
Swtiching from a RX590 to a Rtx 2070 super. I've googled some videos to try to figure out if I can uninstall my drivers and then uninstall my GPU and how to switch between different drivers. The main thing is that alot of these videos mention using DDU however it seeks to just uninstall the drivers for you. Couldn't I just go to device manager and uninstall them there? Whats the difference?

Technically you could. But the difference is that DDU will remove all files/directory and registry entries.IdaMiller wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 3:20 am Swtiching from a RX590 to a Rtx 2070 super. Using only device manager wont do all that.
What you can do is switch your cards and if you see issues, you can still use DDU even if the old card is removed.
So, use DDU only if you need it.
