DDU doesn't run despite .NET Framework installed??

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a driver removal tool that can help you completely remove AMD (ATI), NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers.

DDU doesn't run despite .NET Framework installed??

Post by RS3Enjoyer »

I have been turned towards DDU as a solution to my graphics card woes. Unfortunately, I cannot even attempt to use the program as it will not run.

I don't remember what my .NET Framework was previously, but I now should have 7.0 installed fresh from the Microsoft website. As DDU failed to launch without .NET framework 4.8 or higher, I tried to download... but now it still will not open. Have I failed to activate .NET framework in some way?

I installed the framework, ran the executable again and repaired the installation... still DDU won't recognize that I have a high enough NET framework!

Please, what am I doing wrong???

Hi,
I think you may have installed .NET 7, but DDU need something else, it need the .NET FrameWork 4.8 (usually there by default on a Windows 10 installation)
On what O.S are you ? is there an error message? anything on the windows event log under application ?

I don't know what exactly went wrong, maybe I unintentionally downloaded the SDK for 7.0 instead of the environment... I expected an error when trying to install the 4.8 specific evironment, but no! It installed just fine, and DDU worked like it should! (I am upgraded from a Windows 7 physical disc to 10, my PC is or almost is a decade old by now, trying to afford a new one but I'm stuck with it for now. Ironically I think my previous framework was 4.7.1 or something)

...although, to my horror, DDU still has not fixed my issue I was hoping it would alieviate. (AMD driver keeps being reverted by Windows Update.)

I was going to trash this thread as it was solved on its own, but since you replied, maybe someone else will see this

To prevent the revert, use this tools from microsoft : wushowhide.diagcab ( I think you can get it from there: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/detail ... whide.html )

it will allow to prevent Windows update to install that specific driver. You must try to hide the update before that driver get install. It wont work if that driver is already installed.

I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled upon Candyland Casino and started raking in the cash playing their games. After a few successful rounds, I found myself with enough funds to finally upgrade my old graphic card. It's amazing how something as simple as playing at an online casino like https://candylandcasino.bet/ can lead to such an enjoyable purchase. Now, every time I fire up my favorite game, I can't help but smile knowing that it was all made possible by my unexpected winnings at Candyland Casino.
