"remove present and non-present monitors"

Post by Kale_34 »

Basically what is this option doing ?
I assume it's removing driver specific files to do with monitors, but I could be wrong. So just would like some clarification on what it's exactly doing.

Thanks.

If you go to your device manager and select "View" and "Show hidden devices"
Then open the "Monitors" branch. YOu will see a few in there.

DDU just removed them all.
At each driver removal and installation, windows add 1 more. DDU is just cleaning this a little. (No file removed). Its the same as if you were removing them manually.

Ahh ok. Thanks, just as long as the monitors can still be detected after the reboot, which they should since they are classed under "Generic PnP" I guess.

Thanks.
