Yesterday, my brother and I tried to upgrade his GPU from 1660super to 9070xt. We used DDU to get rid of the NVIDIA drivers, but now after shutdown of the pc and exchanging the old for the new gpu, there is only a black screen and the display thing where it says that you should check your HDMI/DP connection (we tried both HDMI and DP already). We cant get the blackscreen to dissapear. We already tried using the 1660super, it worked but, since we assumed there was something wrong with the system, we reinstalled windows 11 pro. After the reinstalll and using DDU the 9070xt still didnt work, and now even changing back to the 1660super didnt work. So we are stuck in a black screen in which we cant do anything because we have no output. Though there is no physical damage visible and everything lighting up (RGB) there seems to be really wrong.
I would really appreciate your help!

Is it possible? Do you get an image in safe mode, if not than it's surely that.
Also, not quite sure why you used DDU after reinstalling the system. I guess you installed windows with the 9070xt on it already because that would make no sense not doing so.

The complicated way would be to boot with a USB stick into recovery mode and mount the registry and check from there.
The simplest way I suggest is since you already reinstalled windows, I guess there is not so many important stuff already there. So you could just put the 9070xt (if it work) and install windows directly with it.
DDU causing a black screen is unusual especially if it also affect safe mode and on you case the first card even worked so it double weird.
Maybe a CMOS reset is needed. It sometime is when switching card on some system.

No, i dont get anything. I only get the notification on the screen to check my HDMI/DP connection, and then the display goes into standby.
How would i do that?
I tried reinstalling windows, but since we have a blackscreen it doesnt work. Luckily we found an old AMD gpu which seemed to give us an output, so we reinstalled windows with the old AMD gpu plugged in which worked quite well. After windows was set up again and working with the old gpu, we shut down the PC to switch to the new AMD gpu. Sadly this didnt seem to work, but now we definetly know that the gpu is the issue. So now we are running the pc with the old gpu and are trying to return the gpu under warranty.

We already tried CMOS reset a couple of times, but it didnt work in the slightest sadly.
My idea rn is that we somehow messed something up in the deeper level of the gpu's, since they dont even work when plugging into a fully working system.

No worries about DDU, it can't break hardware if he used it wrong. I honestly suspect that your AMD GPU (9070) may have a problem. Try to make it work in a different system to be sure.
If it work on a different system, you may need to check the power, connector, bios version of the motherboard is current.
A repair shop could help you identify real fast what your problem is and should not be expensive.

We are currently filing a ticket at asus because of the GPU, so we hope theyll be able to fix it.
Oh so there maybe was just something wrong with the GPU from the beginning if DDU cant do stuff like this.
Sadly we dont have another rig we can test this in (i dont want to build this gpu into my functioning pc and test ist because i fear it might break my rig for whatever reason).
The PSU shouldnt be the issue at all, since its a new 850w 80+ gold from be quiet. The connectors should also be working because the system was working properly (just not with the gpu). Though i dont know about the BIOS version of the mobo, so maybe there is a slight chance this is the problem.
Repair shop is gonne be our last resort since, we dont have the money for it rn, but ill try to keep you up to date if we will get a new GPU from asus or if they are able to fix it (if i dont forget to tell you).
