I imagine a straightforward removal won't work.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a driver removal tool that can help you completely remove AMD (ATI), NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers.

Hi there! I use NVIDIA, and my new AMD graphics card is coming home today. Since incomplete uninstallation of prior drivers has been reported to cause problems, I would want to know: How can I be positive that all traces of my prior NVIDIA drivers have been removed from the planet? I imagine a straightforward removal won't work.

That's why DDU was made for. To be sure that everything is gone (or at least 99%+)

DDU is designed specifically to remove all leftover driver files, registry entries, and services from previous GPU drivers, which helps prevent conflicts when switching brands.
A standard uninstall through Windows often leaves remnants behind, so using DDU is generally the most reliable way to start with a clean slate.

You can also take it a step further by disconnecting your internet before uninstalling, then boot into Safe Mode and run DDU. This helps prevent Windows from automatically reinstalling drivers in the background. After cleaning, install the latest AMD drivers fresh. That way you ensure a completely clean transition with minimal risk of conflicts.
