The SetupAPI you probably saw is what remove the devices from device manager.checksumerror wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 5:29 am I had the same thing with Edge (using the chrome engine). I went into safe mode, performed the clear and my cookies were gone after this. While DDU may not be doing this, I noticed during the output it reports using an API to "do stuff", could that API have been updated to clear / wipe cookies?
Something that could help is checking if the cookies are there .
Chrome
C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Network
Edge (not verified)
C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Network
If they are there after a DDU cleanup , well, it's clear that hey were not removed. Maybe they can get invalidated because of too much system change, but that I'm no expert of this.
But I'll say that to eliminate DDU completly as the cause, we must know (cookies files) if they are still there.
